She’s also an author: her stories “The Taste of Salt” and “A Change of Heart” have appeared in Daily Science Fiction, and her most recent story, “Make No Promises,” is published in Beneath Ceaseless Skies. She also co-authored a short nonfiction piece, which appears in the June/July 2011 issue of Reader’s Digest, about modern scarecrow devices. It’s riveting, she promises.
Rachel is a graduate of Grinnell College and the Alpha Writer’s Workshop, with an MFA in creative writing through the University of Southern Maine. She has interned for a variety of publishers, including Sourcebooks, Reader’s Digest and Northwestern University Press. She also served as co-editor-in-chief of Grinnell College Press for three years.
